Art-graduation in the «Gridchinhall» gallery

On May 26, an event titled «Art- barbeque» was organized at the country-side «Gridchinhall» art-residence. The event was dedicated to the first graduation of the RMA «Art Management and Gallery Business» school, the classes of which for the period of March through April of this year were given exclusively at the Center for Modern Arts «Vinzavod». More details are available in our photo report.

The participants of the event included the leading figures of the Russian art-market. The mentors of the programm and guests of the «Art-barbeque» each said a few words about the program and expressed their wishes to the graduates:

Sergei Gridchin: «This is a great course, that is bound to become only better, because our hopes lie squarely in our youth. As you most likely understand, it's largely a question of consolidating our efforts: we've got the experience, but it is you who's got a supreme motivation, and I believe this is a perfect combination. We are ready to share with your, you just need to stay closer and not distance yourselves, and it will definitely all work out».

Yulia Grachikova: «As a representative of the company «Art management», I would like to wish the graduates the utmost artistic successes and a good luck in developing in this direction. Your task is to make the Russian art-management into a full fledged market segment of our economy, because right now it functions mainly within the specialized institutions, where, to be frank, there is also a shortage of qualified specialists. So it is your greatest task to develope and advance this industry and help establish a solid foundation for the arts».

Alisa Prudnikova: «The most important thing is to learn through the direct practice, and I belive such opportunity was well awarded to you by the mentor of this course Nikolai Palazhchenko. And each one of you did absolutely great in this course».

The highlite of the event was a series of auctions for the priceless students' artifacts, which were hosted by the curator of the course Nikolai Palazhchenko. All auction sales as well as other purchases like food and drinks could only be made in a one-time specially instituted currency, that was traded for rubles right on site, and which was the only recognized legal tender of the event.
