Shawn Clarkson conducted a master class for RMA

A master class by Shawn Clarkson, the world-renowned designer of bars and restaurants, for RMA students specializing in Restaurant and Club Industry Management took place in Moscow.

Shawn Clarkson started his career by working with Oliver Peyton’s famous Raw Club, which took him five years. That wasn’t the end of his cooperation with the Irish restorateur: later Clarkson redid the Atlantic Bar and Grill, and then designed a national restaurant in the Wallace Collection building. He also worked on the design of the Pop, Denim and 10 Rooms bars, which were the center of the whole bar culture of London in the 90s.

At the present stage in his work its pinnacle is the Electric Birdcage club with its amazing and unimaginable electric-style decor. Altogether you can hardly find a street in the center of London which wouldn’t have a bar either designer directly by Shawn Clarkson or with his immediate participation. Sean spent most of the past year redesigning the Perrier Jouet bar on the top floor of the Harvey Nichols store; it was here in May that Clarkson met with the participants of the RMA traineeship program New restaurant concepts of London.
