    The graduate of RMA’s «Internet Industry Management» program Andrey Shtylenko has been living in Croatia for a couple of years, where he has founded a number of successful businesses, and gives regular master-classes helping the young entrepreneurs to launch their own startups. This year Andrey has become a fellow at the School of Economics and Management at the Far East University which specializes in development of the innovative entrepreneurship.

    Social Insight – is an independent digital-agency that specializes in marketing communications in social networks and on mobile platforms. It differentiates itself from other contenders by a number of unique advantages. The first advantage is its status of an authorized Facebook partner (FPMD), which permits it to assert its competency in the area of marketing solutions that are based on this particular social network. The second one is - its exclusive distribution right for the integration into the interactive platform NARR8 and Game Insight games.  What is a gamification and why a communication through the gaming mechanics works better than through the traditional digital channels, was the subject of the lecture given by the director of the Social Insight agency Andrey Podshibnyak to the students of «Internet industry management» RMA business school program.

It's not exactly easy to cope with an idea that a business can be built out of almost anything.  And no matter how simple of naive that may sound to you at first, that kind of approach not only works, but, what is even more surprising, generates profit for those who rely on it.  Where to look for the business ideas, and how to properly assess their true potential, was the subject of the master class  given by the executives of the MGU business incubator Michael Homich and Yuri Mitin to the students of «Internet Industry Management» RMA educational business school program, as well as to the group of authors and hosts from the TV-channel «Rain» and the radio station Kommersant FM.

    The students of RMA «Internet Industry Management» program have attended an infield lecture at the office of Google Russia, where they had a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the work environment of the Russian branch of the world's largest IT company, which rarely does open its doors to the guests. After the tour around the facility and brief informal conversation with the company's top managers, Vladimir Dolgov (the general director of Google Russia) and Alexey Amilyuschenko (SoftLanding Project Manager), Vladimir discussed with the students the newest trends in the online business, and shared his view of the likely avenues of development for the industry in the next 10 years.

    On 25th of November, during the event organized by the student from the group I9 Maxim Lagutin, a lecture was given by the general director of startup factory "Glavstar" and the founder of the internet-based service and former project development director for «Rambler Media» Arcadiy Moreins. During his presentation, Arcadiy touched on several issues, such as comparative costs between building a team versus building an idea,  which qualities are necessary for any startuper to attract investments, as well as answered different questions and reviewed various student's projects.

    The founder and the general director of one of the most successful job search engines - Vasiliy Voropayev, gave a lecture to the students of RMA «Internet Industry Management». The lecture was given in an informal setting, during which Vasiliy answered various questions, and shared his experience with the students about the difficulties he had gone through at the early stages of his project development, and made suggestions on how to best manage an international team of developers that operates from different countries.

    In September of 2001 a screening has began for the best projects to be submitted to a Russian analog of Y Combinator - InCube Accelerator, created under patronage of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration business incubator, in which a process of startup incubation will proceed in the areas of SaaS, e-commerce and mobile technologies. Up to 10 selected projects will be awarded a $20 000 financing coming from Yandex company, Runa Capital fund as well as number of private investors. Within 3 months the recipients will have to present an improved or built from scratch functional prototype and be able to generate their first sales.

    While working on their projects, the teams will receive consultations from the Russian internet industry experts, including the current RMA students. The latter will be helping the startups to formulate the effectiveness of the chosen business models, and assist in quantifying the expected volumes of investments that will be needed to fulfill the project to completion.

    On July 6th, TV channel «Russia-2» in their syndicated show "" had an episode about the "Internet Technology Management" program, which will be introduced at the State Management University this fall, and run by RMA and the leading Russian and Western companies.

    Applications were accepted until July 25th, for the program taught by the top managers of various internet-based projects, with the subsequent internships offered at companies such as Yandex,, Google. TV program was produced by the News host Alina Temnova, who spent the entire day filming at the enrollment office of GUU (State Management University).

    On May 25, an open lecture was given in Moscow by a Yahoo "veteran" Marvin Liao, who has been working as Commercial Director in the direction "Europe/Middle East/Africa (EMEA)" since March 2011.  During the meeting organized by the Internet Industry Management Program Marvin presented the Yahoo's experience on overcoming the crisis of the mid 2000s, told how the decision to become partners with Microsoft was made, presented the current financial results of the company, and shared his opinion about the attractiveness of the Russian market.

    On May 21, students of the Internet Industry Management Program met with CO-CEO Groupon Russia, former Commercial Director Groupon UK, Anna Berezovskaya. For the first time in the program history, the lecture was shown in a webcast, available to all visitors. During the meeting, Anna told about Groupon's approach to formation of local teams, work with subscribers and companies, as well as made a presentation of new services of the company.

    On March 14 the German businessman Mr. Mark Samver, the investor of Groupon Company, the most fast-growing company of the world and Ms. Anna Berezovskaya, the top-manager of its British subdivision, gave the open lecture for students of Internet Industry Management Faculty. Besides the RMA students about 400 young businessmen and Internet industry experts came to listen to it.

    Attendants majoring in Internet Industry Management had visited a new office of Yandex located in the "Red Rose" quarter. There they were welcomed by Andrey Sebrant, Marketing Director of Yandex, holding a course in internet marketing. He gave them details on the popular search engine, the processes taken within Yandex's walls and described them the role marketing plays in these processes.

    Peter Hruschka, one of the leading experts of Atlantic System Guild, gave a lecture in the business center of SUM. His company is honed in software development processes optimization, which services and skills are used by such legendary persons as Tom DeMarco and Tim Lister. The seminar was held by RMA together with Software People, CareerLab professional advancing center and Squalab testing laboratory. One of the seminar's point was announced as "Process enhancement program: gaining top performance while keeping relish on job".
